The Round Top Family Library was formerly the Hope Lutheran Church, a historic gothic building first constructed in 1925. It was dismantled and moved in seven pieces from Milam county to Round Top and immaculately restored. The project was made possible by a generous gift from Sterling and Marianne McCall and opened its doors to the public in January 2003.

Round Top’s Henkel Square is recognized nationally as an authentic restoration of Anglo-American and German-American 19th Century culture, where families can enjoy the living traditions of the pioneers who settled here. Round Top’s first settlers belonged to Stephen F. Austin’s original band of colonists in the early 1820s. Thirty years later, when a wave of wealthy German immigrants came to Texas in search of water and land, the Anglo settlers moved on and Round Top became a German-Texan community.

Located in historic Round Top, Texas, The James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts and its sole project, The International Festival-Institute at Round Top, were founded in 1971 by world-renowned concert pianist James Dick. Begun with a handful of gifted young pianists in rented space on the town square, the project is now an internationally acclaimed European-styled music institute for aspiring young musicians and distinguished faculty. Over a thirty nine year period and with the help of its patrons and friends, The James Dick Foundation for the Performing Arts has developed superb year round education and performance programs. It has created also an unique 210-acre campus - Festival Hill - containing a spectacular 1,100 seat concert hall, historic houses, extensive gardens, parks and nature preserves. Through its singular collection of rare books, manuscripts, archival material, music, and historic recordings, photographs and objects, the Festival-Institute is also known as an important center for research and scholarly study.

We moved our four kids in 1987 from Houston to Round Top, Texas (pop. 81 and halfway between Houston and Austin), to run the 38 seat Round Top Cafe, which has been open since 1947. We serve a menu of "sophisticated comfort food" from shrimp stuffed quail to our "Great Steak" to the Pork Tenderloin with a peach 'n pepper glaze. We serve 100's of pies every week, in we ship 1000's of pies each year. So bring a bunch of friends to escape the city and enjoy a a GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE with the ROYERS at ROYERS ROUND TOP CAFE!

Winedale, Texas is the home of the Stagecoach Inn which is open for tour by the University of Texas. This Inn was pruchased by Miss Ima Hogg who bought it from Houstaonian, Hazel G. Ledbetter in 1963. Miss Ima Hogg finished restoration of the Inn and gave it to the University of Texas. On these same grounds is also the Shakespeare Theater at Winedale, where young promising actors from all over the world put on Shakespeare's famous plays inside a restored barn. Winedale is located three miles from Round Top.

The business is housed in a 1873 building within Bybee Square. It has premium wines, beers, old world pub charm, gourmet pizza, and light fare. Bottles of wine are sold in the front part of the building and everything else is sold in the rear part of the building. It is the newest happening place in Round Top. It is not hard to find just follow the crowd.
