We had been looking for property in the country for over five years. Some of our friends had moved to Round Top and liked it. After several trips to visit them we fell in love with the town and setting. In 1991 we purchased eleven acres, three and a half miles outside of town.

The property came with a mobile home and for the first year we simply enjoyed going to the country.  In 1993 we purchased a 1880s Texas farmhouse and had it moved onto our property.  Then for another year we were overwhelmed and did not know where to begin.  In 1994 we finally got up the nerve to start working on the old house.  In 1995 the house was far enough along to live in so we sold the mobile home and we moved into the house.  After several years of weekend hard labor here are the results.

We love having family and friends come up for the day or the weekend.  Fishing, hiking, camping, or just sitting on the porch is welcomed. We want to share our love for the property and the old house with the people that mean the most to us . . . . our family and friends.
